Black and White Colors

In this tutorial I will teach you how to transform colored images to black and white images.
I use photoshop CS3 to do my graphics but I think in almost all versions this tutorial will work.

First chose an image to turn it into black and white colors, I'll use this one from gazzete.

Now you need to duplicate the image layer to do this you can go to Layer » Duplicate Layer... option or you can press Ctrl+J in your keyboard (this shortcut works in CS3 version, I don't know if this work in other versions), than you need to desaturate your top layer Image » Ajustments » Desaturate or press Ctrl+Shift+U, your image will look like this:

After that you desaturate your image, go into the layer options at actual layer and change it of Normal to Color, and your image will look like this:

Now you have a black and white image, but you can still editing it if you want, ok here we go.
Go in Layer » Merge Visible or press Ctrl+Shift+E, and now you need to duplicate the image again doing the same thing that I had said before, after duplicate again the layer go in Filter » Blur » Gaussian Blur set to 2,0 and your image will look like this:

Now change the option layer to Soflight or Overlay if you preffer and your image will look like this:

Well done you transform your colored image into a black and white one :))
